“He’s looking at me”

It’s an enchanting step as you hit the town.
For me, it was more about the patio of her beneath
a canopy of mango leaves
and dry dust from the open road or the dry plane air that’s
flying to the core:
Aeroplane Over the Sea.
“I got to know a whole world
that is very different
from the outside spin.

Under the cherry moon, God wants you to know who I am.”
There are dark and twisted gems I had to keep lit,
Flying 2000 Light Years From Home. It is my belief,
kinda justly, I think she’s a
Rainbow
as free as the path of a bubble wand,
as not to smudge herself. Stands out
in a world where impulse and intuition are
bucking intelligence and insight.
We’re going to change the image, start
afresh, say the muscle-bound people.
Stardust and spiders walk among us, hair down and bending strings.
That they were never even subject to change is a jarring bit of information.

She shrugs, smiles.
“Will you swing out to live under
the skin of the city,
voice cast and muscular, deeply felt?”

This never happened,
and she felt she couldn’t explain what a headache sounds like.
He turned back to them
and those beyond them, less.
“All I wanted was…to be the cause of something remarkable,” she tells him.
“You can tell they’ve never had peaceful sounds.”
From Liquid Liquid
to Heaven or Las Vegas.
He studied her energy,
her enthusiasm,
her sauciness,
her wit, daring, her, yes, beauty,
and chiefly, her deep, fetching strangeness;
her Seven Blue Sky Flat
(which has a way of sounding
unutterably sublime
even in the hands of a bumbling amateur)

“How should we live?
Can nothing harmonize?
But all the same …does it?” she asks rhetorically.
Feet racing like sunbeams.
Action feels less organic than in the first,
bowl filled with scoops of mango.
So she just wanted to sing about it:
“Music falls exactly between all the things that are important to me.”

I felt what kind of God would want me to sit closer.

I couldn't open the front door this morning after the winter storm last night so I threw open the garage doors and of course the mounded snow tumbled into the garage. I slogged through drifted snow to the plowed street. The entire neighborhood was in a flurry of activity, shoveling their driveways. I wish I had gotten out before all the racket began!!

I walked down to the park and waded through waist-high drifts to the playground. As you can see above, the snow completely engulfed the seats of the two in back and and there is only a few inches to spare under the two swings in the foreground. The shadows were long & luscious and the snow pristine white ... it was also much quieter in the park, the only sound the wind whipping up the snow.

It was a wonderful storm ... so can we just move into spring now?
